2025 Race for the Cure
This event helps youth understand the impact of breast cancer on individuals and families, encourages empathy for those affected, and demonstrates how\ collective action can support research, education, and patient care. By walking together, youth develop leadership, civic responsibility, and the belief that they are never too young to create positive change in their communities.
Our History
Being My Best Me Organization (BMBMO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2020 in response to the unprecedented challenges faced by youth during the COVID-19 pandemic. Recognizing the significant impact of isolation, educational disruptions, and economic hardship on children and families, BMBMO was established to provide hope, stability, and meaningful support during a time of great uncertainty.
From its inception, the organization has been committed to addressing the social, emotional, and academic needs of young people by connecting them with caring adult mentors, counseling and emotional support, academic enrichment, and essential living resources. BMBMO also created opportunities for youth and families to reconnect through safe community events and enrichment activities that promoted wellness, learning, and a sense of belonging.
As the community emerged from the pandemic, BMBMO expanded its mission beyond crisis response to long-term youth development. Today, the organization continues to empower young people through mentoring, educational support, cultural enrichment, leadership development, field trips, and community engagement. By providing positive experiences and meaningful opportunities, BMBMO remains dedicated to helping youth overcome barriers, realize their potential, and build brighter futures while working to disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline.

Being My Best Me Organization is led by a dedicated team of compassionate servant leaders who share a passion for empowering the next generation. Our diverse team includes educators, social workers, physicians, artists, law enforcement professionals, and community advocates who bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and expertise to our mission.
United by a shared commitment to service, our team works collaboratively to mentor, inspire, and equip youth with the tools, resources, and encouragement they need to thrive emotionally, culturally, academically, and socially. Together, we believe that every child deserves positive role models, meaningful opportunities, and a supportive community that believes in their potential.
